When I retired, I realized I would need a new hobby because I have never been content to have idle hands. In the past, I had knitted several sweaters, being self-taught. So, I decided to teach myself to crochet, primarily afghans. I give the afghans to family members, friends, and patients in Nursing Homes.
Having an interest in computer, I decided to create a website to show some of my afghans in the event that others might be inspired to take up this most useful and rewarding hobby. I do not sell my afghans. To see the expressions of gratitude and pleasure on the faces of those to whom I have given afghans makes me feel that I am continuing to do something worthwhile and not just using my retirement for self.
I have recently crocheted other items in addition to afghans. I enjoy crocheting baby afghans & baby booties for new mothers, and I have crocheted scarves, tanktops, doilies, animals, dolls, and some Christmas decorations - candy canes & wreaths Just click on the buttons to see some of my afghans & other crafts projects.
