I found this pattern in the Leisure Arts Pattern Book entitled “BIRTHSTONE AFGHANS.” This is the January month - Garnet pattern. I chose to crochet it in Mint Green color, required 40 ozs. worsted weight yarn, crochet hook I, finished size 47” x 64”. I chose to eliminate the “picot” portion of the edging because I did not particularly like that part of the afghan edging. But each of us has our own taste in stitches and design; therefore, you may prefer the picot edging. This afghan pattern turned out to be one of my favorites, and I thoroughly enjoyed crocheting it.
